"An Imperial, National and State Debate: The Rise and Near Fall of the Australian Forestry School, 1927–1945"

This article traces contentious debates throughout the years leading up to and following the creation of the Australian Forestry School, between and among leading foresters throughout the British Empire born outside of Australia on the one hand, and, on the other, professionally trained foresters and Australian politicians who had been born in Australia.

"Soil Erosion, Scientists and the Development of Conservation Tillage Techniques in the Queensland Sugar Industry, 1935–1995"

Drawing upon archival documents, government reports and published accounts of agricultural scientists, this paper aims to document how officers of the Queensland Bureau of Sugar Experiment Stations and the Soil Conservation Branch of the Queensland Department of Agriculture and Stock (later Primary Industries) tried to develop soil conservation methods suited to land cropped with sugar cane.
