[207] Schlittenreise war unglaublich interessant. Ich mußte immerzu an die erste deutsche Expedition denken, die sich in demselben Terrain, wo wir mit fliegender Fahrt einherzogen, im Schweiße ihres Angesichts quälten, den ungefügen Schlitten vorwärts zu schleppen. Welch ein Unterschied! Freilich hatten wir keine voll gelasteten Schlitten, aber trotzdem! Das Tempo war dauernd Hundetrab, bei Stellen mit tiefem Schnee musste man jetzt abspringen, um es aufrecht zu erhalten. Man kann gerade gut mitlaufen.
