[003] Prinzip bis zum letzten Augenblick getreu. Nun räumen wir ja das Feld, und so ist es hoffentlich das letzte Mal, daß wir unter ihrer Laune zu leiden haben.

22. April [1913] Es ist noch immer bedeckt, wenn auch der Schneefall und das Schneetreiben aufgehört hat. Wir haben beschlossen, ½ Tage zuzugeben, d.h. bis zum Abend hier liegen zu bleiben und die Nacht über zu reisen.

25. April. [1913] Vormittags. Zeltplatz Kursbrä-Firn. Durch Schneetreiben bei blauem Himmel ans Zelt gefesselt. Wir sind sogar noch die Nacht zum 23. unten im Farimags-Tal liegen geblieben. Erst dann wurde es klar. Wir hätten zwar zur Not schon früher reisen können, aber wir wollten gern klares Wetter haben, wenn wir auf dem Kursbrä in das unbekannte Gebiet weitermarschierten. Also am 23. morgens brachen wir auf. Der Aufstieg zum Kursbrä-Depot war ebenso schwierig wie früher, trotz des geringeren Gewichts, das wir auf den Schlitten

22 April [1913]. Everything is still cloudy, though the snow has stopped falling and drifting. We have decided to sacrifice ½ day and stay here until evening and travel through the night.

25 April [1913], morning. Camp at Kursbrä Firn. Due to blowing snow under clear blue skies, we are forced to stay in the tent. We even had to remain in Farimag Valley through the night of the 23rd. Only then did it clear up. If pressed, we could have departed earlier, but we decided to wait for clear weather to continue our trek on the Kursbrä into unfamiliar territories.
