Ein Steuermann [Assist. Bei magn. Oder astron. Beob.] (13); 4 Mann Maschinenvolk [zugleich Telephon, Automobil – etc. – Männer] (21) davon einer als Zimmermann, vielleicht eine zweiter als Norweger, endlich eine Grönländer (22). Ferner muß die Expedition nach dem Eindrücken, die ich bisher gehabt habe, unbedingt für 2 Überwinterungen geplant werden, weil man im ersten Herbst – wenn man hier nicht alle geographischen Pläne bei Seite stellt, mit den wissenschaftlichen Einrichtungen knapp fertig wird. Die so umständlichen Einrichtungen um eine halbes Jahr (ein Winter mit Frühling) in Wirksamkeit zu halten verlohnt sich wirklich nicht. Übrigens scheinen mir das Grammophon und der Revolver sehr nützliche Gegenstände zu sein (letzterer auch in Gebieten, wo es keine Eisbären giebt). Die Anlage eines Stationshauses, aber in größerer Entfernung vom Schiff, ist unbedingt zu empfehlen. 4 Mann. Einrichtung etwas wie bei uns Telephon, zugleich Basis für Polarlichtmessungen und Wolkenmessungen. Haus muß ganz in einzelne Teile zusammengelgt sein.
