Eine Schwierigkeit war nur für mich, der ich bis dahin noch keine Schlittenreise mitgemacht hatte, mich im Dunklen mit all dem Gerät, dessen Handhabung ich noch nicht kannte, zurechtzufinden. Die ersten paar Tage kam es so, daß Koch und Thostrup – wir 3 hausten in dem einen Zelt, während M.E., Brunlown und Ring das andre hatten – eigentlich alle Arbeit hatten, und ich nur meine persönliche Schlittenarbeit besorgte, bis ich endlich erklärte, es ginge nicht so weiter, nur auf meinen Vorschlag wurde es dann so eingerichtet, dass ich ständig Koch am Abend war, während Koch und Thostrup das Zelt
